A one-day workshop on the “Importance of Technical Education” was held at S.D.M. Polytechnic, Ujire, on February 5 for high school teachers from Belthangady taluk. The programme was inaugurated by Tarakesari, Block Education Officer, Belthangady, who emphasized the importance of educating school students about the scope and opportunities in technical education. In the morning session, Satish Bhat Bilinele, a national trainer of JCI India, provided detailed insights into various technical education courses and highlighted their relevance in the modern era.
The event was presided over by Amaresh Hebbar, Acting Principal of S.D.M. Polytechnic. Also present were Mithun Kumar B., Workshop Coordinator; B. Somashekhar Shetty, State Award-winning retired Headmaster; Chandranath Jain, Manager, S.D.M. Polytechnic; and over 40 high school teachers from Belthangady taluk. The inaugural session was compered by Sampath Kumar, Lecturer, EC Department, while Shivaraj, Lecturer, Mechanical Engineering Department, delivered the vote of thanks. The afternoon session featured a presentation on “Google Drive: Features and Uses” by Amaresh Hebbar and Varadaraj Ballal, Lecturer, CS Department. This was followed by a talk on “Career Opportunities in the Technical Field” by Sampath Kumar, Lecturer, EC Department.
