Guided by the vision of Pujya Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, President of the SDM Institution, who emphasizes the importance of skill-based education, the Department of Electronics & Communication at SDM Polytechnic College organized “Robo Race – 2025”. The event aimed to enhance students’ practical skills by encouraging them to apply theoretical knowledge in a hands-on environment.
A total of 25 teams from the college participated in the competition. The students designed and built a challenging track approximately 100 meters long, featuring 10 diverse obstacles. The track was uniquely constructed using mud, sand, stones, ups and downs, a hanging bridge, and slippery oil patches, making the race both exciting and technically demanding.
In the afternoon, the event was formally inaugurated by the college Principal, Mr. Santhosh, in the presence of Mrs. Mary Smitha, Head of the Department, faculty members, and enthusiastic students. The Robo Race provided a valuable platform for participants to showcase their engineering creativity and problem-solving skills.
