SDM Polytechnic organized a site visit program for final-year Civil Engineering students on September 4. The students visited the Thumbe vented dam and water purification plant in Mangaluru, where they were guided by Keshav, the dam in charge, and Rajesh, the lab in charge.

Additionally, the students toured the Technological Park, Innovation Centre, Model House, Rainwater Harvesting Demo Unit, and Bio-Digester Unit at Dakshina Kannada Nirmithi Kendra (R), NITK Surathkal, Mangaluru, gaining insights into cost-effective, eco-friendly modern building technologies.

The students were accompanied by Civil Engineering department head Thripthi Shetty, Lecturer Praveen, and Lab Instructors Thejakshi and Yajnesh.
