The Department of Mechanical Engineering at SDM Polytechnic, Ujire, organized a health awareness program titled “Swasthya Sankalpa” on October 14, 2025, to commemorate the 58th Coronation Anniversary of Rev. Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade. The program aimed to promote awareness among students about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, preventing substance abuse, and ensuring mental well-being.
The chief guest and resource person, Mr. Vivek Vincent Pais, Regional Director, SKDRDP Dharmasthala, delivered an insightful address highlighting the adverse effects of drugs, alcohol, and smoking. He encouraged students to embrace a disciplined and balanced lifestyle to achieve sound physical and mental health.
The event was graced by Mr. Santosh, Principal, Mr. Shreyank Jain, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Chandranath Jain, Manager, and Mr. Madhav Gowda, Program Officer, SKDRDP, who were present on the dais.
Mr. Mithun Kumar B, Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering, welcomed and introduced the guests, while Mr. Eshwar Sharma P. S., Lecturer, Department of Civil Engineering, efficiently conducted the proceedings of the program.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Shivaraj P, Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the chief guest, management, faculty, staff, and students for their enthusiastic participation and cooperation.
