The Departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Polytechnic, Ujire, organized a technical talk on “Importance and Applications of 4G and 5G in IoT” on 14 August 2026.
The session was delivered by Prof. Mahesh D. S, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SDM Institute of Technology, Ujire. The technical talk focused on the significance of 4G and 5G communication technologies in the Internet of Things (IoT) and their growing applications in modern connected systems.
The resource person highlighted how high-speed, low-latency, and reliable 4G and 5G networks are enabling smart applications across areas such as connected vehicles, smart homes, industrial automation, healthcare, and smart cities. The session provided students with valuable insights into emerging communication technologies and their practical applications in IoT.
The Master of Ceremony (MOC) was conducted by Mr. Amaresh Hebbar, Placement Officer, who effectively coordinated the proceedings of the programme.
The event concluded with the presentation of a memento to the resource person, Prof. Mahesh D. S, by Mr. Amaresh Hebbar, Placement Officer, and Mr. Sai Charan, Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering, as a token of appreciation for sharing his valuable knowledge and expertise with the students.
The programme was held at the Seminar Hall, SDM Polytechnic, Ujire, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, providing students with an opportunity to enhance their technical knowledge and understand the industry relevance of 4G, 5G, and IoT technologies.
