As part of the Day 2 Induction Programme, a special session on “An Insight to SDM” was organized at SDM Polytechnic, Ujire on 1 July 2026 at the Workshop Seminar Hall. The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Ishwar Sharma, Lecturer, Department of Civil Engineering.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Pradeep Shetty, Director, Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP). In his inspiring session, he introduced students to the rich heritage and service-oriented philosophy of SDM, emphasizing the institution’s core values of Chaturdana—Anna Dana (food donation), Vidya Dana (education), Arogya Dana (healthcare), and Abhaya Dana (protection and empowerment). He highlighted how these four pillars have shaped SDM’s commitment to social welfare, value-based education, and nation-building.
The Principal of SDM Polytechnic also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to imbibe the ideals and values of SDM throughout their academic journey. As a mark of gratitude and appreciation, the Principal felicitated the resource person by presenting him with a memento. The programme concluded with students gaining a deeper understanding of the SDM philosophy and its enduring legacy of service to society.
