Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Polytechnic, Ujire celebrated Onam 2026 on 3rd September 2026 with great enthusiasm and vibrant cultural spirit. The programme was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Cultural Club members, bringing students together to celebrate the rich traditions and joyful spirit of Onam.

The celebration provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, confidence and cultural talents through various events organised as part of the Onam celebrations.
Students enthusiastically participated in events including:
👗 Ramp Walk – Mr. SDMP & Miss SDMP
🌸 Rangoli Competition (Pookalam) – showcasing beautiful and creative floral designs
👑 Bali Chakravarthi Story Presentation – students presented the traditional story of King Bali, adding a meaningful cultural element to the celebration
🎭 Various cultural activities and traditional presentations
The Bali Chakravarthi story presentation beautifully depicted the traditional tale associated with Onam and helped students understand and share the cultural significance of the festival.

The active participation of students, along with the efforts of the NSS and Cultural Club, made the Onam celebration a memorable occasion.
The programme promoted teamwork, creativity, cultural appreciation and unity among students while celebrating India’s diverse cultural heritage.
