SDM Polytechnic, Ujire celebrated National Sports Day 2026 on 29 August 2026 at 11:45 AM at the SDM Polytechnic Workshop Hall with great enthusiasm and spirit.
The programme was organized to commemorate Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player of India, whose remarkable contribution to Indian hockey continues to inspire generations. The event emphasized the values of discipline, teamwork, perseverance and sportsmanship.
The programme was graced by Sri Ramesh H, Secretary, SDM Sports Club (R), Ujire, as the Chief Guest. Sri Sudeena, Physical Education Director, SDM Autonomous College, Ujire, and Volleyball & Handball Coach, delivered the Keynote Address, highlighting the importance of physical fitness and sports in the overall development of students.
The programme was presided over by Sri Santhosha, Principal, SDM Polytechnic, Ujire.
The celebration encouraged students to actively participate in sports and develop a healthy and positive lifestyle. The event also reinforced the message that sports are not only about winning but also about teamwork, discipline, confidence and the spirit to keep moving forward.
