As part of the Induction Programme 2026, the Departments of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering conducted department-wise orientation sessions for first-year students on 30 June 2026. The sessions were coordinated by Mr. Ashwin S. Marate (Civil Engineering), Mr. Shivaraj P. (Mechanical Engineering), Mrs. Shadvala (Electronics & Communication Engineering), and Mr. Dinesha (Computer Science & Engineering).
The orientation sessions provided students with a comprehensive introduction to their respective departments, highlighting academic programmes, laboratory facilities, faculty members, curriculum structure, skill development opportunities, and career prospects. Faculty members also familiarized students with the institute’s vision, mission, values, and the various academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities available on campus. Informative presentations, along with videos showcasing institutional achievements, major events, and student activities, offered students a glimpse into the vibrant learning environment at SDM Polytechnic. The interactive sessions enabled students to engage with faculty members, clarify their queries, and begin their academic journey with confidence, motivation, and a clear understanding of the opportunities that lie ahead.
