The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SDM Polytechnic, Ujire, organized a Guest Lecture on “Basics of Computers and Artificial Intelligence (AI)” on 27th and 28th July for the first-year Computer Science and Engineering students.
The resource person for the programme was Mr. Jayaprasad, a distinguished alumnus of SDM Polytechnic, Ujire. During the sessions, he introduced students to the fundamentals of computers, essential computer skills, and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in education and everyday life.
Through practical demonstrations and real-world examples, Mr. Jayaprasad explained how AI-powered tools can be effectively used for learning, improving productivity, and enhancing problem-solving skills. The interactive sessions encouraged students to explore modern technologies and inspired them to develop digital literacy from the beginning of their academic journey.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Yashwitha B, a first-year Computer Science and Engineering student. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person and all participants for making the programme a success.
