As a part of the student induction programme, an Awareness Session on the National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross (YRC), and Sports was conducted at the Workshop Seminar Hall of SDM Polytechnic, Ujire on 10th July 2026.
The programme aimed to familiarize newly admitted students with the importance of community service, humanitarian values, leadership, personality development, and physical fitness through various co-curricular activities. The resource persons for the session were Mr. Saicharan, NSS Programme Officer, who highlighted the objectives and activities of the National Service Scheme; Mr. Avaneesh, YRC Officer, who explained the role of the Youth Red Cross in promoting health awareness, social responsibility, and humanitarian service; and Mr. Jashwanth, Physical Director, who introduced students to the sports facilities, athletic opportunities, and the importance of regular participation in sports for overall personality development.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Shankar Bhat, Mr. Tribhuvan, Mrs. Anushree, and Mr. Lohith. Mr. Sampath Kumar efficiently served as the Master of Ceremonies, ensuring the smooth conduct of the event. All teaching and non-teaching staff were present and actively participated in the programme, encouraging students to engage in NSS, YRC, and sports activities for their holistic development.
